What to expect.

1

Site vulnerabilities

Review access, perimeter, lighting and operational conditions.

2

People & procedures

Assess visitors, contractors, handovers and incident escalation.

3

Practical priorities

Agree a report scope and phased operational recommendations.

Agree the report and its limits

A useful scope states which premises, records and people may be consulted. It also sets out whether the output is a short site note, a prioritised risk report or a more detailed operational plan.

Potential deliverables include a vulnerability summary, priority actions, proposed post duties, camera or access-control considerations, communication arrangements and a review schedule. Drawings, engineering design, specialist testing and implementation are separate unless included.

What we need to prepare

  • Site location, layout or plan if available, and permission to visit.
  • Premises use, operating hours, workforce or visitor patterns and critical assets.
  • Existing guard, camera, alarm and access procedures.
  • Relevant incidents or concerns and any budget or project constraints.
  • An authorised person who can explain operations and approve access.

How an assessment is priced

The quotation depends on site size, complexity, travel, the information to review and the detail of the deliverable. A multi-site assessment needs a clear list of sites and reporting requirements.

Confirm whether any initial visit is chargeable and whether the assessment fee is separate from later guarding, installation or monitoring services.

How the assignment is arranged

  1. Set the objectives

Agree the site, issues, permitted access, report format and decision to support.

  2. Review the premises

Inspect the agreed areas, discuss operations and record relevant observations.

  3. Prioritise actions

Report vulnerabilities, limitations and practical next steps, then discuss implementation separately.

When will I receive the report?

The site visit and reporting dates are agreed according to the size of the premises, available information and required output. Complex sites, restricted access or additional technical work can affect the schedule.

Useful answers

Questions before you book

Is an assessment useful before hiring guards?

Yes. It can help define posts, duties, reporting and equipment before a staffing quotation is finalised.

Does a security assessment guarantee the site is safe?

No. It identifies observations and recommendations within an agreed scope and point in time. Conditions can change, and implementation and continuing review remain necessary.

Can you help turn the report into an operational plan?

Operational planning can be included in the brief. Specify whether you need post instructions, communication and escalation arrangements, implementation priorities or ongoing review.
